I have a confession, I started using Lightroom as my primary editing program because some silly glitch caused my keyboard to disconnect every time I used Photoshop for more than a few minutes. You know how it goes, you’re editing, but you’re jumping to Facebook, answering emails, and tweeting or maybe that’s just my ADD tendencies, but I’d do that and my keyboard was kaput. I’d have to restart the computer to get it to work. It was a giant pain in the booty. So I just started avoiding Photoshop to avoid the keyboard issue and started using Lightroom more and more. And I realized, hey! this is going much faster. I’m whipping through files and going to bed earlier, playing on the floor with my kids, had more time to cook (wait, that’s not a bonus in my book) … I was spending less time in front of the computer and it was awesome.

It’s been five years since that glitch sent me to Lightroom and I’m so happy for that annoyance. I still have to venture into Photoshop for some big things, but 98% of my editing is done in Lightroom. Lightroom is amazing, but it’s really intimidating the first time you see the interface on your screen. The workshop will show you why it’s not scary. So you’re trying to transition from Photoshop to Lightroom to speed up your workflow, but you don’t know how to maintain your processing style? We do that, too.
